Engine tear down part 1
It’s soo nice to have unlimited space around the engine. No sore knucles, akward positions and special tools to reach those hard to get nuts and bolts.<div>I got the transmission of in about 5 mins instead of the 1 hour of swearing under the car.</div><div>
</div><div>As expected the throwout bearing was FUBAR:</div><div>
 </div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>Since the price of motor oil here in Norway can exceed 200 NOK for a liter I have been using cheap Biltema 5w-50 syntetic and shortened the oil change intervalls to 3-5K km.</div><div>I’m very happy to see that there is no signs of wear, sludge or damage on the valvetrain after 15K miles of hard work on various tracks:</div><div>
 </div><div>
</div><div>
 </div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>The cranknose looks good as expected:</div><div>
 </div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>No signs of detonation or running lean on the pistons. No variation between cylinders.</div><div>That is good news. 18 psi on a 3071 with 550cc injectors is pushing it. This also means my overpriced Hydra WBO2 is working.</div><div>
 </div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>Combustion chambers looks good. No play in the valve guides as I can tell.</div><div>I’ll leave the head untouched. I didn’t even remove the manifold.</div><div>
 </div><div>
</div><div>
</div><div>Thats is for now.</div><div> </div>
